Everyone Loves “Springtime.”  This piece was inspired when my parents took us on a skiing vacation in March while we lived in the deep south and while I was a very young boy.  Before we left, the colors of the trees and leaves were drab and dull.  When we returned about 10 days later, everything was green, alive, and smelled wonderful.  Winter is when seeds die, and Spring is when they are reborn and life flourishes.  This piece is a characterization of this aspect of nature.

The “Flight of the Bumble Bee” is a Piece composed by Rimsky-Korsakov in 1899.  This is a solo piano studio version.  This piece is very rapid and characterizes the unpredictable nature of a creature that science cannot seem to aerodynamically explain.  In other words, he/she should not be able to fly, but they do.

“The Milky Way” is our galaxy and has over 100 million stars.  Everyone wonders how it’s possible that there can be so many stars in our Universe.  Scientists have proven that there are more stars in the Universe than there are grains of sand on the entire planet Earth.   Imagine all the deserts, the beaches and fresh water rivers in the world and how many grains of sand there are.  I once read that there are over 5 million grains of sand in one heaping handful of sand.  It’s incomprehensible and our minds are not designed to understand it.  If one uses his/her imagination, they can imagine the beauty of the universe while hearing this piece.
